Elijah Green, A Star In Burleson

Updated: Dec 20, 2022

Elijah Green is a new, up and coming artist from Scottsdale, Arizona who has been making rapid progression in his music career over the past year. Currently residing in Burleson, TX, Elijah spends a lot of his time at school, at the skatepark, hanging with friends and recording music. I have personally been mentoring Elijah for over a year and the amount of growth in his music from the time we met to now leads me to believe that he could become a charting artist one day.

Although his latest releases have been leaning towards a more alternative, indie sound, Elijah also has a passion for rapping and has several songs tracked over hip hop beats. In my opinion, if you haven't heard anything, a great first track to listen to would be Hiding Faces! (Fun fact: He recorded and mixed this by himself with Apple earphones on BandLab.)

We asked Elijah some personal questions and we've shared our conversation below:

Hey Elijah, what first got you into music?

Growing up, my dad played music and it inspired me to be an artist and my style came from my family listening to all kinds of music. My two older brothers listened to lots of Kid Cudi, Mac Miller, etc.

Who inspired you to make music?

I loved listening to music and freestyling my own verse over the songs I listened to, so from there I started writing my own songs and finding beats to record my songs over.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I feel like I don't have a style, if I like the beat then i'll make a song with it. I love making alternative music.

What is your creative process like? On rap, I tend to just sit there and write to the beat and freestyle and change the words as I go. But on the alternative songs I make, I just reflect my feelings to the song. Sometimes I surprise myself when it all starts coming to my head.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Kid Cudi would be sick, but as of right now, just the homies in my town.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

Kid Cudi

What is one message you would give to your fans? We are all on this planet together so be there for the people who are lucky enough to live on the same planet as you

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? Now it's very easy to make music. Like for me, most of my music is made on my phone with apple earbuds and an app on my phone called BandLab and to promote, you can do so on Instagram TikTok etc. It's crazy how tech has evolved in the promoting industry and music industry.

Which famous musicians do you admire? Kanye West, Drake, Kid Cudi, and even Elton John, Hall And Oates, The Doobie Brothers There's so many that have inspired me.

What is the best advice you’ve been given? Be yourself, we are all going to die one day and also work hard for what you inspire to be.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be? Not sure but stop judging people

What's next for you? Album coming Summer of 2022 and working at Buffalo Wild Wings
